Overview

MicroRNA 4754 (MIR4754) is a short non-coding RNA that belongs to the microRNA family, characterized by its role in the regulation of gene expression at the post-transcriptional level[5][7]. As with other microRNAs, MIR4754 is processed from a precursor transcribed from the genome, matures via the canonical microRNA biogenesis pathways, and is capable of guiding the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to target mRNAs with partial sequence complementarity, typically at the 3’ untranslated regions (3’ UTRs)[4][7]. This leads to the repression of target gene translation or enhanced degradation of the mRNA. MIR4754 does not encode a protein and is not considered a classic therapeutic receptor or enzyme target; rather, its main role is as a regulator of gene expression through RNA interference mechanisms. According to available genetic databases, MIR4754 has been linked to dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumor, though the mechanism or clinical significance of this association is not well-established and functional characterization of MIR4754 remains limited[5]. No direct drug interactions, biomarker roles, or safety concerns have yet been described for MIR4754 in the literature.
