MicroRNA 4761 (MIR4761) is a short (20–24 nucleotide) non-coding RNA encoded by the MIR4761 gene in humans. It functions in post-transcriptional regulation by interacting with messenger RNAs (mRNAs) to inhibit their translation or destabilize them, thus influencing gene expression. MIR4761 is processed from a primary transcript, undergoes maturation via Drosha and Dicer enzymes, and is incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), which mediates its gene regulatory effects. The biological functions and disease roles of MIR4761 are currently not well characterized, and it is not considered a classical therapeutic target or biomarker.
