Molecular classification
Other, microRNA, small non-coding RNA

Overview

microRNA 4781 (MIR4781) is a predicted small non-coding RNA found in humans, classified as a microRNA. MicroRNAs are short, single-stranded non-coding RNAs (~22 nucleotides) that regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally by binding to the 3′-untranslated region (3′-UTR) of target mRNAs, resulting in mRNA degradation or translation inhibition. While many microRNAs are well-characterized and play key roles in development, disease, and physiology[4][6], MIR4781 does not have specific experimentally defined functions, disease associations, or relevance as a drug target according to current publicly available databases and reviews. Its inclusion in nomenclature databases, such as miRBase, reflects existence at the sequence level, but functional data and clinical relevance have not yet been established[4][6].
