Like other miRNAs, MIR4789 is transcribed as part of a primary transcript (pri-miRNA), processed into a precursor (pre-miRNA), and further processed by Dicer to produce a mature miRNA incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC)[1][5]. While the general biological roles of miRNAs include cell differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and immune regulation[4][8], no specific function, disease association, or pharmacological targeting has been reported for MIR4789 itself[1][5].
