Overview

MicroRNA 5093 (MIR5093) is a human microRNA gene that produces a short (20–24 nucleotide) non-coding RNA involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. Like other microRNAs, it functions by base pairing with complementary sequences in target messenger RNAs, leading to mRNA destabilization or translational inhibition. MIR5093 is processed from a primary transcript by Drosha and Dicer ribonucleases to form the mature miRNA, which incorporates into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to carry out its regulatory role. The specific biological functions, disease associations, and interacting therapeutics for MIR5093 have not been reported in the referenced literature. MicroRNAs as a class play fundamental roles in diverse processes such as development, cell proliferation, apoptosis, and immune regulation, but information specific to MIR5093 is currently limited. MIR5093 is cataloged in databases such as HGNC (43474), NCBI Gene (100847022), and Ensembl (ENSG00000266307). While microRNAs are considered crucial for gene regulation and disease, no evidence was found for MIR5093 being established as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or drug interactor. There is no information indicating this is a misspelled, non-existent, or otherwise incorrect target.
