MicroRNA 5192 (MIR5192) is a human microRNA gene encoding a short (20-24 nt) non-coding regulatory RNA. Like other miRNAs, MIR5192 is transcribed by RNA polymerase II, processed from a primary transcript to a precursor hairpin, and then further processed to a mature miRNA. Mature MIR5192 is incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), where it can regulate gene expression by binding complementary sequences in target mRNAs, leading to translational repression or mRNA destabilization. There are currently no functional studies mapping specific targets, disease associations, or therapeutic relevance for MIR5192 itself. Its classification, roles, and mechanisms are inferred from general miRNA biology. Summary: MIR5192 is a human microRNA gene; it is not a receptor, enzyme, or classical drug target, and there is no evidence for direct pathogenic, biomarker, or therapeutic roles as of the latest sources.
