MicroRNA 545 (miR-545) is a short, non-coding RNA molecule that functions in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression by binding to complementary sequences in target messenger RNAs (mRNAs), leading to translational repression or degradation of these mRNAs[5]. miR-545 has been implicated as a tumor suppressor in several types of cancers, including ovarian, gastric, and liver cancer.
