MicroRNA 548a-1 (MIR548A1) is a short, non-coding RNA belonging to the microRNA (miRNA) family, specifically the mir-548 microRNA precursor family[1][5]. Like other miRNAs, it functions in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression by targeting specific messenger RNAs (mRNAs) for degradation or inhibition of translation, thereby influencing cellular processes such as proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation, and drug sensitivity[1]. In cancer, particularly non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), miR-548a-1 has been shown to enhance drug sensitivity to cisplatin by targeting the ROBO1 gene and downregulating the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, mechanisms implicated in chemoresistance[2]. MIR548A1 is associated with disease roles primarily in cancer and drug resistance, and its expression may serve as a biomarker for therapeutic response in oncology[1][2].
