Overview

MicroRNA 548ag-1 (miR-548ag-1) is a short, non-coding RNA molecule in the microRNA family that functions mainly by post-transcriptional repression of target gene expression[3][1]. It acts as an oncogene in the development of obesity-related endometrial cancer by downregulating the tumor suppressor gene MOB1B, leading to deactivation of the Hippo pathway and enhanced tumor cell proliferation, invasion, and migration while inhibiting apoptosis[1][3]. Elevated levels of miR-548ag-1 are associated with poorer prognosis in endometrial cancer. It may serve as a biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis in specific cancer contexts, but is not currently considered a direct therapeutic receptor or enzyme target[1][3].
