microRNA 5571 is a small, non-coding RNA transcribed from the q11.22 region of human chromosome 22[2]. It functions as a post-transcriptional regulator of gene expression by binding target mRNAs, leading to their degradation or translational repression[1][2]. Recent studies have identified its upregulation in breast cancer, where it is associated with poor prognosis and participation in ERBB2, EGFR, JAK-STAT, and phospholipase D signaling pathways[2]. It may also serve as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in lung adenocarcinoma and dilated cardiomyopathy[3]. The specific molecular targets and mechanisms remain under investigation, and no approved therapeutics directly target miR-5571 at present.
