Overview

MicroRNA 5681b (MIR5681B) is a small, non-coding RNA classified as a microRNA (miRNA), a class of 20–24 nucleotide long RNAs essential for the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms[1][4][5]. Like other miRNAs, MIR5681B is processed from a longer primary transcript (pri-miRNA) by the Drosha and Dicer ribonucleases and incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to guide gene silencing, typically through translational inhibition or mRNA degradation[1][4][5]. miRNAs regulate many cellular pathways and processes, although there are currently no direct disease associations, interacting drugs, or known biomarker applications specifically attributed to MIR5681B in the major gene and RNA databases[1][5].
