MicroRNA 6126 (miR-6126) is a short, non-coding RNA molecule of approximately 20–24 nucleotides involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms. It acts primarily by base-pairing with target mRNAs, leading to their destabilization or translational inhibition via the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC)[3]. miR-6126 is highly expressed in the brain, is associated with socially relevant neuronal pathways, and its reduced blood levels correlate with autism spectrum disorder severity[1]. In oncology, miR-6126 is released in exosomes from ovarian cancer cells and functions as a tumor suppressor by directly targeting integrin β-1, thus inhibiting cell migration, invasion, angiogenesis, and metastasis[4]. The biological roles of miR-6126 extend to other conditions such as diabetic nephropathy and immune thrombocytopenic purpura, but its therapeutic targeting remains experimental.
