microRNA-6500-3p is a human microRNA, a single-stranded, ~22 nucleotide non-coding RNA that post-transcriptionally regulates gene expression by binding to complementary sequences in mRNAs, leading to their repression or degradation. Notably, miR-6500-3p functions as a tumor suppressor in pediatric high-grade glioma (pHGG), where its downregulation permits upregulation of cell cycle genes such as KIF14 and NCAPG. Restoration of miR-6500-3p levels suppresses proliferation of glioma cells, suggesting potential as a future therapeutic or diagnostic target.
