Overview

microRNA 6510 (miR-6510, hsa-miR-6510) is a human microRNA—a short, non-coding RNA involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. It has been identified as significantly downregulated in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, where it functions as a tumor suppressor. Upregulation or restoration of miR-6510-3p leads to cell cycle arrest at G2/M, induction of apoptosis, decreased cell proliferation, suppressed migration, reduced cancer stem cell marker expression (CD133, CD44), and heightened sensitivity to ionizing radiation. These properties make miR-6510-3p a potential therapeutic target and biomarker for HNSCC, though delivery and off-target effects remain technical challenges[1][2].
