Target intelligence / Profile preview
MicroRNA 6718 (MIR6718) is a predicted human microRNA gene encoding a short (20–24 nucleotide) non-coding RNA molecule that functions in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. Like other microRNAs, MIR6718 is transcribed as a primary transcript that is processed to a precursor miRNA and then to a mature miRNA, which is incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC). The mature miRNA guides RISC to complementary sequences on target mRNAs, resulting in translational inhibition or degradation of the mRNA. The specific biological roles and disease associations of MIR6718 have not been characterized in the scientific literature as of this date[1][2][3][4][5].
