MicroRNA 6724-3 is a non-coding RNA molecule of approximately 20–24 nucleotides in length that belongs to the microRNA class. Like other microRNAs, it functions as a post-transcriptional regulator of gene expression in multicellular organisms, primarily by binding imperfectly to the 3' untranslated region (UTR) of target mRNAs. This leads to inhibition of translation or degradation of the mRNA target. MicroRNAs, including miR-6724-3, play key roles in fine-tuning cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and survival, although specific functional or disease roles for this particular miRNA have not yet been documented in curated databases.
