microRNA 6730 (MIR6730) is a small non-coding RNA (approximately 22 nucleotides) classified as a microRNA, functioning in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression through RNA silencing mechanisms[3][4][9]. Its mature sequence and processed variants (such as hsa-miR-6730-3p) are involved in gene regulatory networks primarily by binding to complementary sequences on target mRNAs, thereby promoting their degradation or inhibiting their translation[3]. MIR6730 is differentially expressed in breast cancer patients, particularly between chemosensitive and chemoresistant phenotypes, and has been shown to increase proliferation of melanoma cells, indicating roles in cancer development and chemoresistance[1]. The MIR6730 gene is located on chromosome 1p36.21[2]. As with other microRNAs, dysregulation of MIR6730 expression may affect tumor suppressor or oncogene activity, contributing to disease progression or therapeutic response[5].
