Overview

MicroRNA 6765 (MIR6765) is a predicted non-coding RNA gene classified as a microRNA (miRNA), a short (20–24 nucleotides) sequence involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms[4]. Like other miRNAs, MIR6765 is transcribed as part of a primary miRNA (pri-miRNA) transcript, processed to a hairpin precursor (pre-miRNA), and finally cleaved to produce a mature miRNA sequence. These mature miRNAs are incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), where they guide the complex to target mRNAs by imperfect base pairing, leading to inhibition of translation or destabilization of the target transcript[4]. There is currently no information linking MIR6765 to specific biological functions, disease roles, or therapeutic targeting. It is one of the many miRNAs catalogued based on sequence but lacks annotated experimental or clinical associations to date[4].
