MicroRNA 6826 (miR-6826 or hsa-miR-6826) is a small, non-coding RNA molecule that functions as a microRNA, most likely participating in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression by binding to target messenger RNAs (mRNAs). Plasma levels of miR-6826 are elevated in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer who respond poorly to peptide vaccine treatment, making it a negative predictive biomarker for vaccine efficacy in these patients. Its upregulation has also been described in the serum of patients with pancreato-biliary cancer, suggesting a broader role as a cancer biomarker, though its direct gene targets and detailed mechanisms of action in immune or cancer biology remain to be clarified. No interacting drugs or direct therapeutic targeting of miR-6826 are reported in current medical literature.
