MicroRNA 6833 (MIR6833, hsa-mir-6833) is a predicted non-coding RNA gene belonging to the microRNA family, which are small RNAs (20–24 nucleotides) involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms by affecting mRNA stability and translation. These molecules are processed from primary transcripts by Drosha and Dicer enzymes, and incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC)[2]. However, MIR6833 is not widely referenced in the scientific literature as an established therapeutic target or biomarker, and it was excluded from a major computational screen for functional pre-miRNAs due to its predicted secondary structure being less energetically favorable than the threshold typically used to define stable miRNA hairpins[4]. As such, its biological function, disease involvement, and potential as a therapeutic target are uncharacterized or likely minimal at this time.
