Overview

MicroRNA 6839 (MIR6839) is a small, non-coding RNA molecule found in humans, involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. Specifically, the miR-6839-5p strand has been shown to inhibit the proliferation, migration, and invasion of human chondrosarcoma cells, as well as promote apoptosis by downregulating target genes such as Bcl-2, VEGFA, BST2, FPR3, and PPARA. MIR6839 likely contributes to tumor-suppressive pathways and is considered a regulatory RNA, not a classical drug target. It may serve as a biomarker for cellular processes or therapeutic response in specific cancers, but there are no approved drugs directly interacting with it at this time
