Overview

MicroRNA 6861 is a human microRNA molecule encoded by the MIR6861 gene. Like other microRNAs, MIR6861 is involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, primarily by binding to complementary sites in target mRNAs and mediating their degradation or translational inhibition[1]. MicroRNAs are known to regulate key cellular processes such as cell cycle, apoptosis, and differentiation. Aberrant expression of miRNAs, including those structurally similar to MIR6861, is associated with cancer progression and other pathological processes[2]. The specific biological roles and disease associations of MIR6861 remain to be fully elucidated, although its function as a regulatory RNA classifies it as a molecular target of interest. Currently, there are no approved or well-characterized drugs interacting directly and specifically with MIR6861.
