Overview

MicroRNA 6875 (miR-6875) is a small, non-coding RNA molecule of the microRNA family, identified in human plasma. Like other miRNAs, it post-transcriptionally regulates gene expression by binding to complementary sequences in messenger RNA (mRNA) molecules, leading to their degradation or translational repression[4]. While the specific mRNA targets and biological roles of miR-6875 remain unclear, it has been reported as a non-invasive plasma biomarker for predicting the efficacy of vaccine treatment against metastatic colorectal cancer, and as part of a panel for early-stage breast cancer detection[1]. Some evidence suggests that higher miR-6875 plasma levels may be associated with suppressed immune competence and poorer response to immunotherapy, highlighting its possible role in modulating the tumor immune microenvironment, though these mechanistic links require further study and experimental validation[1]. miR-6875 is not currently considered a direct therapeutic target and no drugs are known to interact with it.
