microRNA 6877 (MIR6877) is a short (approximately 20–24 nucleotides) non-coding RNA molecule found in humans.[6] Like other microRNAs, it is involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms by interacting with messenger RNAs (mRNAs), typically resulting in silencing of gene expression. To date, specific biological roles, disease associations, drug interactions, or biomarker applications for MIR6877 have not been described in the literature or major functional genomic databases.
