MicroRNA 7112 (miR-7112) refers to a small, ~20–23 nucleotide long, non-coding RNA found in humans, encoded by the MIR7112 gene family. Like other microRNAs, miR-7112 is involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression—either by repressing translation or promoting degradation of specific mRNA targets. Recent research identified miR-7112-3p as a direct regulator of the PERK/ATF4/CHOP/caspase signaling cascade, implicating it in cell death and ER stress pathways[1]. There is currently little information regarding therapeutic applications or drug interaction, no established disease association, and no evidence that miR-7112 is a formal therapeutic target.
