MicroRNA 7515 (miR-7515) is a small, endogenous non-coding RNA molecule that post-transcriptionally regulates gene expression by binding to complementary sequences on target mRNAs, leading to gene silencing. In pancreatic cancer, miR-7515 acts as a tumor suppressor by directly targeting insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and inhibiting downstream Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK signaling, resulting in decreased proliferation, migration, and invasion of cancer cells. Its expression is significantly reduced in multiple tumor types, and lower levels are associated with worse prognosis in pancreatic cancer. Though not currently targeted by any drugs, miR-7515 and its downstream effectors are under investigation as potential therapeutic or prognostic targets in oncology
