Overview

microRNA 7702 (MIR7702) is a human microRNA belonging to the class of non-coding RNAs involved in post-transcriptional gene regulation. In colorectal cancer, miR-7702 is significantly downregulated in highly invasive cancer cell lines and functions as a **tumor suppressor** by inhibiting cell migration and invasion through direct inhibition of the TADA1 gene. This effect is species-specific and was confirmed in human but not mouse cells, highlighting MIR7702's relevance for human disease pathways. As with other microRNAs, the broader functions of MIR7702 are likely to include regulation of multiple transcripts, but published data on its other physiological or pathological roles remain limited. There are currently no known drugs targeting this microRNA, and it is not considered a conventional therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter[1][2].
