MicroRNA 7975 (MIR7975) is a predicted non-coding RNA belonging to the microRNA (miRNA) family, which are short (20–24 nucleotide) RNA molecules involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression by targeting messenger RNAs (mRNAs) for translational inhibition or degradation[1]. miRNAs are processed from longer transcripts through the action of Drosha and Dicer ribonucleases, and incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC)[1][6]. Although MIR7975 itself is catalogued in gene databases, there is currently no published evidence implicating it as a therapeutic target, nor are there known disease roles, biomarker uses, or drug interactions specific to MIR7975. General functions and mechanisms described apply broadly to microRNAs but not specifically to MIR7975[1].
