MicroRNA-8063 (miR-8063) is a small non-coding RNA that functions as a post-transcriptional regulator of gene expression. It has been identified as a tumor suppressor in colorectal cancer, where it directly targets heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein AB (hnRNPAB), suppressing its expression. By inhibiting hnRNPAB, miR-8063 impedes activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, thereby reducing the self-renewal and tumorigenic capacity of colorectal cancer stem cells. Downregulation of miR-8063 in colorectal cancer is closely associated with advanced tumor stage, vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis, and poorer patient prognosis, suggesting it has a significant role in cancer biology and may serve as a potential biomarker or therapeutic target in oncology[1][2][4].
