MicroRNA 892a (MIR892A) is a short, non-coding RNA gene of the microRNA class, transcribed by RNA polymerase II as a precursor that undergoes sequential processing by Drosha and Dicer enzymes. The mature microRNA, typically 20–24 nucleotides long, guides assembly into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), enabling recognition and downregulation of target mRNAs through imperfect base pairing, most commonly resulting in translational inhibition or destabilization of the target mRNA. While other microRNAs are strongly implicated in various disease processes and may be of biomarker or therapeutic relevance, specific disease or drug interactions for MIR892A are not established in current literature[1][3][5].
