It localizes to the centrosome, cytoplasmic microtubule, intercellular bridge, and nucleus, and is implicated in regulating microtubule dynamics, particularly at the growing distal tips of microtubules[1][4][6]. MTUS2 interacts with proteins such as MAPRE1 and may target the microtubule depolymerase KIF2C, suggesting a functional role in controlling microtubule structure and dynamics during cell division and migration[6]. While annotated as a tumor suppressor candidate based on its name and some disease associations, its direct use as a therapeutic target is not established, and no drugs are listed as acting on this protein[1][2].
