Microtubule stabilization refers to the process by which microtubules—dynamic cytoskeletal polymers composed of α/β-tubulin heterodimers—are maintained in their polymerized state, resisting depolymerization and thus supporting essential cellular functions such as mitosis, intracellular transport, and cell shape maintenance. This stabilization can be achieved through endogenous proteins (e.g., microtubule-associated proteins or MAPs) or exogenous agents (notably certain drugs).
