The HA-1/HLA-A*02:01 complex is a molecular complex formed when the minor histocompatibility antigen HA-1, a polymorphic human peptide antigen, is presented on the cell surface by the class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) allele HLA-A*02:01[5]. Recognition of this peptide–MHC complex by CD8+ T cells drives immune responses such as graft-versus-leukemia effects following allogeneic stem cell transplantation. The specificity of HA-1/HLA-A*02:01 makes it an attractive target for immunotherapeutic approaches, including adoptive T cell therapies and peptide vaccines, especially in hematological cancers[5][6]. However, targeting this complex carries risks such as graft-versus-host disease due to its expression on non-malignant hematopoietic cells[5].
