MIOS divergent transcript (MIOS-DT) is a noncoding RNA gene that is transcribed in the opposite direction from the MIOS gene locus. It is categorized as a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), produced by divergent transcription—where both sense and antisense transcripts arise from a gene promoter region[3][5]. While many divergent transcripts are of interest for their potential regulatory roles, specific biological functions, disease roles, or therapeutic relevance of MIOS-DT have not been established in the literature or gene databases as of this time[5]. MIOS-DT is not considered a therapeutic target, nor are there known drugs, mechanisms of action, or biomarker uses associated with it.
