MIR2052 host gene (MIR2052HG) encodes a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) implicated in the regulation of gene expression at the post-transcriptional and transcriptional levels. It is involved in cancer progression, particularly hepatoblastoma, by sponging specific microRNAs (miR-514a-5p and miR-205-5p), which in turn regulate key pathways such as MAPK and PI3K/AKT. MIR2052HG is associated with increased cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in cancer cells. It has been proposed as a novel biomarker and potential therapeutic target in cancer, but as of now, it is not classically targeted by existing therapeutics.
