Overview

Mitochondrial proteins involved in redox regulation play critical roles in maintaining cellular homeostasis by balancing ROS production and scavenging. They modulate signaling pathways that control metabolism, cell survival, mitochondrial biogenesis, and the removal of damaged mitochondria. Examples include mitofusins (Mfn), ROMO1, COA8/COX assembly factors, and SOD2/MnSOD.
