Mitochondrial ribosomal protein L30 pseudogene refers to genomic DNA sequences that are highly similar to the functional MRPL30 gene, which encodes a component of the 39S large subunit of the mammalian mitochondrial ribosome. These pseudogenes result from duplication or retrotransposition events and do not encode functional protein products. In the human genome, several MRPL30 pseudogenes exist, and they serve primarily as molecular fossils rather than as active participants in ribosomal function or disease.
