Mitochondrial ribosomal protein S10 pseudogene refers to a non-functional DNA sequence similar in structure to the protein-coding gene that encodes the mitochondrial ribosomal protein S10, which is a nuclear gene product involved in mitochondrial protein synthesis. The pseudogene itself does not encode a functional protein and is not involved in mitochondrial translation or any known cellular function. Multiple MRPS10 pseudogenes have been identified in the human genome on different chromosomes. These are recognized as genomic fossils and are not conventional therapeutic targets, enzymes, receptors, or transporters.
