Target intelligence / Profile preview
Mitochondrial ribosomal protein S6 pseudogene 2 (MRPS6P2) is classified as a processed pseudogene derived from the functional mitochondrial ribosomal protein S6 (MRPS6) gene. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but are non-functional due to mutations, truncations, or lack of regulatory elements. MRPS6P2 does not encode a functional protein and, as such, has no known biological activity or disease association. It serves as a molecular record of evolutionary events but is not involved in cellular processes or considered for therapeutic targeting.
Not applicable. There are no therapeutic agents targeting MRPS6P2, as it is not functional.
