Overview

Mitochondrial ribosome recycling factor pseudogene 1 (MRRFP1) is a human pseudogene related to mitochondrial ribosome recycling factor (MRRF), which is involved in recycling mitochondrial ribosomes during the termination phase of mitochondrial protein synthesis[1][3][4]. Unlike the functional MRRF protein, MRRFP1 does not encode a protein and there is currently no known biological function, disease association, or therapeutic relevance for this pseudogene. MRRFP1 is not considered a druggable target nor implicated directly in cellular pathways, disease mechanisms, drug interaction, or clinical safety concerns. Its annotation is primarily of genomic interest and does not translate to functional activity in human health or disease[1][3][4].
