MTND2P41 (mitochondrially encoded NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase core subunit 2 pseudogene 41) is a nuclear-encoded human pseudogene located at chromosome 4q13.2. It is a non-functional segment of DNA that resembles the protein-coding mitochondrial gene MT-ND2 but does not encode a functional protein and has not been shown to produce a transcript with biological activity. MTND2P41 has no established role in normal cellular biology, disease, or drug response, and is not considered a target for pharmacological intervention. This differs from the functional mitochondrial gene MT-ND2, which encodes a subunit of Complex I involved in the mitochondrial electron transport chain.
