Overview

Mitogen-activated protein kinase 6 pseudogene 2 (MAPK6P2) is a non-functional, non-coding pseudogene corresponding to a defective copy of the parental MAPK6 gene[10]. Pseudogenes are genetic sequences derived from protein-coding genes but are typically incapable of producing functional proteins due to mutations or regulatory defects[4]. MAPK6P2 shows no evidence of protein-coding ability and is not implicated in direct regulatory functions or disease. Although pseudogenes can have subtle regulatory effects at the RNA level (such as miRNA sponging or chromatin remodeling), no such functions have been reported for MAPK6P2[10][4]. It is not a validated therapeutic target and is best classified solely as a pseudogene.

02

Mechanism of action

There is no mechanism of action for drugs, as it is not a protein target[10].

03

Biological functions

There is no evidence for a direct protein-level biological function. However, pseudogenes can have functions at the RNA level, such as regulation of parental gene expression or non-coding RNA effects[4].Other
04

Disease associations

Other. No known direct disease associations for MAPK6P2, but some pseudogenes can play roles in regulation or chromatin biology[4].
