Mitogen-activated protein kinase 6 pseudogene 3 (MAPK6P3) is a human pseudogene related to the MAPK6 gene, which encodes the enzyme mitogen-activated protein kinase 6. As a pseudogene, MAPK6P3 is generally considered non-functional at the protein level and does not produce a functional kinase. Pseudogenes can sometimes have regulatory RNA roles, but there is currently no evidence that MAPK6P3 has a characterized function in disease, biology, or as a drug target. It should not be confused with the protein-coding MAPK6 gene or its protein product ERK3[4].
