Overview

Mitogen-activated protein kinase B-Raf (BRAF) is a serine/threonine-protein kinase that plays a central role in the RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK signaling pathway. This pathway transmits signals from cell surface receptors to the nucleus, regulating key cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, migration, and apoptosis. Mutations in BRAF, particularly V600E, are implicated in several cancers, making it an important therapeutic target. Several small-molecule inhibitors have been developed targeting mutant forms of B-Raf.
