Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase 29 (MAP3K29) is a member of the MAP3K family of serine/threonine kinases, specifically identified in plant species such as Zea mays (maize) and Arabidopsis thaliana. In plants, MAP3Ks are part of a complex signaling network that regulates growth, development, and responses to environmental stresses like drought and pathogens. MAP3K29 belongs to the Raf-like subfamily of MAP3Ks, which are characterized by a C-terminal kinase domain and a long N-terminal regulatory domain. While it plays a role in plant-specific signaling pathways, there is no known human ortholog or standard human protein with this name. Consequently, it is not currently recognized as a therapeutic target for human diseases such as cancer or inflammation, and no drugs are known to target it in a clinical context.
