Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase 9 (MAP3K9) is a serine/threonine protein kinase and a key upstream component of the MAP kinase signal transduction pathway. It activates the JNK pathway through phosphorylation of MAP2K4/MKK4 and MAP2K7/MKK7, leading to downstream effects on c-Jun and GATA4 transcription factors. MAP3K9 is implicated in cellular stress responses and plays a critical role in apoptosis and cell death signaling via mitochondrial pathways.
