Overview
Mixed Lineage Kinase 2 (MLK2) is a serine/threonine protein kinase belonging to the mixed lineage kinase (MLK) family and the MAP3K superfamily. It is primarily expressed in the brain and plays a role in regulating cell migration, invasion, cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and neuronal function. MLK2 acts as an upstream activator of MAP kinase pathways. It has been implicated in neurodegenerative conditions and cancer. Its activity is regulated via intramolecular interactions.
