MMP24 antisense RNA 1 (MMP24OS)

MMP24OS (MMP24 opposite strand, also known as MMP24 antisense RNA 1 or MMP24-AS1) is a long non-coding antisense RNA gene located opposite the MMP24 (matrix metallopeptidase 24) locus. It does not encode a protein and is not a recognized drug target, receptor, or enzyme. No direct biological function, drug interaction, or disease relevance for MMP24OS has been established in the literature or scientific databases as of the current information. Its name suggests possible regulatory roles over the sense MMP24 transcript, but this has not been systematically documented in published studies[2]. Several aliases are used interchangeably, but none correspond to a canonical protein product; references to "protein MMP24OS" are inaccurate.
