Monoacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 2 (MGAT2) is an enzyme involved in both lipid metabolism and protein glycosylation. In lipid metabolism, it catalyzes the conversion of monoacylglycerol (MAG) to diacylglycerol (DAG), a crucial step in triglyceride synthesis and dietary fat absorption, particularly in the small intestine. There is also a protein referred to as N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase II involved in N-glycan biosynthesis.
