Monocyte cytokine production is a complex biological process involving the synthesis and secretion of various pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory signaling proteins, such as Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-α), Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), and Interleukin-6 (IL-6), by monocytes in response to stimuli (Source: StatPearls, Monocytes, 2023).
